SIX BULLDOGS EARN MYLES BRAND ALL-ACADEMIC AWARDS FROM THE NSIC

Five University of Minnesota Duluth student-athletes - Eric Cyr, Allison Fanta, Megan Stroh, Abby Thomas, Emma Van Winkle and Matt Venaas - representing two sports, have earned a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award for 2011-12, it was announced today.


The honor, named for the late NCAA President Dr. Myles Brand, is bestowed upon senior NSIC student-athletes who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher, are exhausting their eligibility and are on track to graduate after the season.


A total of 83 student-athletes from the conference's 14 member institutions received the Myles Brand award, which is in its third year of existence.
