Was a three-time NAIA All-American center (first team in 1990-91 and 1989-90 and third team in 1988-89) and the first individual to be named the NSIC Player of the Year three years in a row ... started in all 126 games during his four-year tenure with the Bulldogs ... established UMD career records for points (1,953), rebounds (1,095) and blocked shots (195) ... helped lead the Bulldogs to four consecutive NSIC titles, four NAIA National Tournament appearances and a 103-23 overall record (45-3 in the NSIC) ... ranked first on both the team scoring the rebounding charts his final three collegiate seasons ... finished first in the NSIC in rebounding and field goal percentage as a junior and senior ... was selected UMD's Outstanding Male Senior Athlete for 1990-91 ... played in the National Basketball Association -- a Bulldog first -- for two years with the Cleveland Cavaliers (1992-94) ... spent three seasons as an NCAA I assistant coach at Cleveland State University (1994-96) and Western Michigan University (1996-97) ... received a B.A. degree in business from UMD in 1992 and a Master's degree in education from Cleveland State four years later ... is a native of Milwaukee, Wis. and was one of three Guidinger siblings (Jeff and Janet were the others) to play intercollegiate basketball at UMD ... another brother, Jerry, is also a UMD alumnus.
