WOMEN TRACK BULLDOGS EARN USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC CITATIONS

The University of Minnesota Duluth women have once again been recognized as a NCAA Division II All-Academic Track and Field Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. To qualify as an All-Academic Team, the institution had to possess a cumulative team grade point average of 3.00 or higher in 2011-12 (The Bulldogs posted a 3.21 mark) . A total of 83 schools received this distinction.

On an individual front, junior Kari Novotny (pole vault) and seniors Megan Stroh (throws) and reigning NCAA Division II outdoor 800-meter champion Lexi Williams all attained USTFCCCA All-Academic Team status for 2011. To earn All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution. He or she must also have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA  and have met an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark in an individual or relay event at some point in either the indoor and outdoor seasons.
