BULLDOGS STAY PUT AT NO. 2 IN AFCA II POLL; CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL NEXT UP

A huge shakeup in this week's American Football Coaches Association Division II poll shifted all but two teams from their previous perches and one of those just happened to be the University of Minnesota Duluth, which checked in at No. 2 for the third consecutive time. The other is the team situated directly in front of the Bulldogs --  reigning national champion Pittsburg State University.


UMD, off to a 2-0 overall start following last Saturday night's 38-16 victory over visiting Winona State University, were the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference club to crack the Top 25, although St. Minnesota State University-Mankato and the  University of Sioux Falls a


With the exception of just two times (both coming last fall), UMD has cracked the Top 10 in every AFCA II weekly poll since Sept. 29, 2008.


The Bulldogs will be in St. Paul, Minn. this Saturday evening for a NSIC confrontation with Concordia University-St. Paul.
