BULLDOGS SLOTTED EIGHTH IN LATEST AFCA II POLL

Monday, October 22, 2012

Despite a dominating 30-0 victory over Bemidji State University this past Saturday afternoon, the University of Minnesota Duluth went from a share of seventh place to the No. 8 spot in this week's American Football Coaches Association Division II poll.

UMD (7-1 overall) is one of three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference clubs to make this week's Top 25 list, joining Minnesota State University-Mankato (No. 7) and the University of Sioux Falls (No. 21). The Bulldogs have cracked the Top 10 in every AFCA II weekly poll since Sept. 29, 2008 -- except for two weeks (both coming last fall)  -- and held down the top slot from Nov. 2, 2010 to Sept. 19, 2011.

Next up for the four-time defending NSIC champion Bulldogs is a Saturday (Oct. 27) clash at the University of Minnesota Crookston, UMD's final road outing of the 2012 regular season.
