Over the last two weeks of the season, sophomore forward Maureen Stormont had as much to do with the Bulldogs sneaking into the postseason as anyone. Following a four-goal weekend, the Stillwater, Minn., native was named offensive Player of the Week in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Stormont posted her second consecutive eight-point weekend, running her personal point streak to five games. After putting away three consecutive markers on Friday against Crookston for her first collegiate hat trick, she scored the Bulldogs’ lone goal on Sunday in a 1-1 tie. Stormont has 18 points (eight goals, two assists) over that stretch and finished the season fourth in the league scoring race with 24 points on a career-high 11 goals and two assists.

UMD travels to Mankato, Minn. on Wednesday afternoon to take on No. 1 Minnesota State University-Mankato at 1:00 p.m. in the first round of the NSIC Tournament.
