The University of Minnesota Duluth engaged in its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference activity of 2013 Sunday (Feb. 3) and came away with a 9-0 victory over Bemidji State University at the Arrowhead Tennis and Athletic Center in Duluth.

The Bulldogs, who fell to the College of St. Scholastica by that same score the previous night in their season opener, got straight set singles wins Sunday from the freshmen trio of Bailey Kolles (No. 3), Delany Dobbs (No. 5) and Katie Lincoln (No. 6) as well as junior Kelsey Cunningham (No. 4) while sophomores Alyssa Brunelli (No. 1) and Kara Saemann (No. 2) both took three sets to put away their opponents. UMD swept the three doubles events as Brunelli and Saemann (8-0 at No. 1), Kolles and Dobbs (8-3 at No. 2) and Cunningham and Lincoln (8-1 and No. 3) all prevailed.

UMD will host Minnesota State University-Moorhead next Saturday and St. Cloud State University on Sunday in a pair of NSIC matches in Virginia, Minn.
