BULLDOGS ADD TWO SWEDISH NATIONAL TEAM MEMBERS FOR 2011-12

The University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team has inked two more members of the Swedish national team for 2011-12 season with the addition of forwards Tina Enstrom and Erika Grahm.

Both Enstrom and Grahm were 2010 Winter Olympians with Team Sweden.  Enstrom has already played 89 games in the Swedish jersey, recording 16 goals, including two in Vancover in 2010.  She was a World Championship bronze medalist in 2007, and spent the past season playing for MODO Hockey, Riksserien, tallying five goals and nine assists for 14 points in just 14 games.  In the 2008 Women's World Championship, Enstrom compiled a Team Sweden high five points (one goal, four assists) in just four games, helping Sweden to a fifth-place finish.

Grahm has played in 38 games for Team Sweden's top-team, and has recorded five goals.  She also played in 14 games for MODO Hockey, Riksserien last season, netting ten goals and an assist for 11 points.  Grahm helped lead Sweden's U18 Team to a Junior World Championship bronze medal in 2009 after scoring two goals in five skates.

Enstrom and Grahm join four other players who have signed on to be UMD freshmen this fall, including Tea Villia (Team Finland), Zoe Hickel (Team USA U18), Bridgette Lacquette (Team Canada U18) and Jenna McParland (Team Canada U18).

The Bulldogs will open up the 2011-12 season on Sept. 29-30 when they host the Minnesota Whitecaps in an exhibition series at AMSOIL Arena.
