The University of Minnesota Duluth will hit the road for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches this weekend.
The Bulldogs (3-2, 0-1 NSIC) take on the University of Minnesota-Crookston on Friday night before stopping off against Bemidji State University on Saturday afternoon.
UMD had just one game on the docket last week and saw St. Cloud State pull away in the final seconds to knock off the Bulldogs 73-81. Senior forward

Hannah Rutten just missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 38.9 percent from the floor including 45.9 percent in the second half as they tried to return from a halftime deficit.
Minnesota Crookston (4-1, 1-0 NSIC) opened the conference season with a dominant 104-84 victory over Bemidji State last weekend. Sophomore Alexa Theilman threw down six threes for the Eagles in the win and now averaged 14.4 points per game this year. Sophomore Katrina Moenkedick leads UMC with a 15.4 PPG average while also hauling in a team-high 7.4 rebounds. She also has nine steals on the year. The Eagles have yet to leave the confines of their home arena during the regular season.
Bemidji State (4-1, 0-1 NSIC) dropped its first game of the season to Minnesota Crookston and will play St. Cloud State at home Friday before the Bulldogs come to town Saturday. Senior center Kate Warmack scored 33 points in the loss and is one of four Beavers averaging double digits scoring on the year at 19.4 points per game while also bringing down 11.6 boards per game. Senior guard Morgan Lee leads the way with a 19.6 PPG game average. Freshman guard Hanna Zerr has directed the BSU offense with 21 assists already on the year. Bemidji was 2-0 in a pair of home non-conference match-ups to start the year.
Friday's game in Crookston is set for a 6:00 p.m. opening tip with the Beavers and Bulldogs facing off at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
