UMD LOOKS TO JOLT MOMENTUM IN INTERDIVISIONAL NSIC WEEKEND

The University of Minnesota Duluth continues its four-game road trip this weekend, taking on a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division opponents in Upper Iowa University and Winona State University.

UMD (10-12, 7-11 NSIC) suffered a pair of setbacks last weekend, including a heartbreaker on free throws in the closing seconds when MSU-Moorhead knocked off the Bulldogs on Saturday night. Friday night, Northern State held the Bulldogs to just 32.4 percent shooting in the opening half to hold them off despite a hot-scoring second half (14-of-23 as a squad), led by
The Warriors knocked off UMD 56-74 on Feb. 27 last season in the NSIC tournament. Winona State is one of just two teams in the NSIC with a winning record against the Bulldogs at 62-79.

The weekend tips off on Friday night with Upper Iowa and UMD meeting at 6:00 p.m. The Bulldogs then stop in Winona for an afternoon tilt with the Warriors at 4:00 p.m.
