Emilee Trost all secured individual titles for the University of Minnesota Duluth at the University of Minnesota's Parents Day Open on Saturday. The meet served as a final tuneup to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, which starts next Thursday in Mankato, Minn.
Olson prevailed in the 1,000-meter run, clocking in at 2:58.16 while fellow cross country All-American Trost finished (out of 50 competitors) in the mile run with a time of 4:55.46 -- a NCAA II provisional-qualifying effort and the eighth best mark in the country at the moment. Hawkinson leaped 35'-05.75" in the triple jump to win that event. Katherine Ayers in the weight throw (4th; 55'-05.00") and Hawkinson in the long jump (5th; 16'-02.25").
