In its final tuneup before next weekend's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the University of Minnesota Duluth came away with five individual titles and another six second-place finishes at the Meet of the UnSaintly on Friday and Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.
Claiming championships for the Bulldogs were sophomore
Breanna Colbenson in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (in a Hamline University's Klas Field-record time of 10:47.38), senior
Jennifer Hitchcock in the hammer throw (54.07 meters), junior
Madeline Schaeffer in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.13), and freshmen Emiliee Trost in the 800-meter run (20:10.30) and
McKenzie Holt in the 5,000-meter run (18:02.69). Schaeffer teamed with seniors
Erin Pangerl and
Amelia Maher, and freshman
Erica Kesseh in the 4 x 100 relay and won that event in 48.30.
Runnerup performances were posted by Maher in both the 200-meter dash (25.61 -- she placed second behind an unattached runner) and high jump (1.66 meters), Kesseh in the 100-meter dash (12.51), senior
Katherine Ayers in the discus throw (45.22 meters), senior
Alexandra Rudin in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:57.30, which, like Colbenson's time, eclipsed the previous facility standard), and junior
Hannah Olson in the 1,500-meter run (4:43.15, a time bettered only by a member of the Twin Cities Track Club).
