The final day of the NCAA II Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships would bring University of Minnesota Duluth freshman
Emilee Trost back to the course as she earned an All-American finish in the finals of the 1,500-meter run.

Live Results1,500-METER RUN / FinalsTrost broke the all-time record at UMD with her fourth place finish and a time of 4:23.46. The previous mark of 4:24.83 was set by Michelle SanCartier at the 2010 NCAA II Championships. Staci Foster of Azusa Pacific University took home first place with a time of 4:19.07. Trost had run the seventh-fastest time in the preliminary at 4:30.92 to qualify for Saturday's final.
The event brings to a close the meet for five UMD athletes who competed on the week. Seniors

Jennifer Hitchcock wrapped up their Bulldog careers with a 17th-place finish in the heptathlon and a 13th-place finish in the hammer throw, respectively. Junior

FRIDAY'S RESULTS: Day two of the NCAA II Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships belonged to senior
Amelia Maher for the University of Minnesota Duluth, as she competed in the second half of the heptathlon and the high jump on Friday in Allendale, Michigan.
Maher also earned a nod on the 2015 CoSIDA Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-District 7 (Central Region) First Team, voted on by regional members of the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSiDA) on Friday, making her eligible for the CoSIDA/Captial One Academic All-America teams released later this month.
HEPTATHLON / Long Jump, Javelin Throw, 800mStarting the day in 12th place, just 310 points off the lead, Maher leaped a distance of 5.12 meters, earning 592 points in the long jump while throwing a top mark of 23.02 meters in the javelin. She'd have a chance to make a move up the stanings in the 800-meter run as the two track events had been her best showing Thursday. Meanwhile, New Mexico Highlands University senior Salcia Slack expanded her lead on the field taking first place in each of the first two events with a leap of 5.93 meters and a throw of 38.22 meters. In the final event, Maher ran 2:25.40 to place 11th. Her 4,747 points would land her in 17th place while Slack went on to claim the championship with her score of 5,691, 216 ahead of second place and over 400 ahead of third place.
HIGH JUMP / FinalsMaher, who qualfied with a vertical of 1.71 meters - the 17th highest mark in NCAA II this season, fouled out against the first jump of the day, 1.60 meters.
The Bulldogs have just one more competition ahead of them on Saturday when first-year runner Emi Trost will compete in the 1,500-meter run at 1:25 p.m.

THURSDAY'S RESULTS: The University of Minnesota Duluth was well-represented on day one of the NCAA II Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Allendale, Michigan this weekend as five athletes competed across four events.
The event, hosted by Grand Valley State University, will see 113 different instituions represented by the end of Saturday's action. Four of the five Bulldogs competing made their debut at the event with the exception being senior
Alexandra Rudin, who made a return appearance to the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the same venue she placed 19th a year ago, joined by junior
Hannah Olson in the same event. Senior

Amelia Maher made her debut in both the Heptathlon and will also compete in the High Jump on Friday afternoon.
HEPTATHLON / 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200mAmelia Maher started the day for the Bulldogs with a personal best of 14.84 seconds in the 100m Hurdles, finishing third in her heat. In the high jump, she notched a high mark of 1.64 meters (5' 4.5"), finishing tied for fourth in the event. After throwing 10.21 meters in the shot put, she added another fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.19 seconds -- third-best in UMD history. In all, she earned a day-one total of 3,058 points, good for 12th place currently but just 310 points off the leader, Salcia Slack (New Mexico Highlands University). She will have a chance to catch up with the long jump, javelin throw, and 800-meter run beginning at 9:30 a.m. Friday (local Duluth time).
HAMMER THROW / FinalsJennifer Hitchcock finished her career with a top distance of 53.50 meters in the Hammer Throw, earning a 13th place finish. Heavin Warner (University of Central Missouri) took home a first place finish with a distance of 64.35 meters, just 0.50 off the championship record.
1,500-METER RUN / PreliminariesEmi Trost ran third in her heat and qualified for Saturday's final with the seventh-fastest time of the day at 4:30.92.
STEEPLECHASE / PreliminariesHannah Olson and Allie Rudin each ran in the first heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing with bubble times of 10:50.70 and 10:55.74, respectively. After the second heat, the pair would finish 14th and 15th in the standings just missing the qualifying mark of 10:42.16 set by Alex Burkhart of Chico State University.
The Bulldogs will be back at the GVSU complex Friday beginning early as Maher takes to the field for the Long Jump when the Heptathlon continues at 9:30 a.m., local Duluth time.
