Emilee Trost claimed two titles at the Minnesota State University-Mankato Open Saturday afternoon while her University of Minnesota Duluth teammate, senior
Lydia Kingsley, was the lone Bulldog to win a crown at the Twin Ports Invitational in Superior, Wis., that same afternoon.
Trost placed first in the 19-runner mile race in a time of 4:52.76 with the next three finishers being fellow Bulldogs -- junior
Breanna Colbenson (5:00.69), senior
Hannah Olson (5:03.64) and senior Erick Seidenkranz (5:20.32). She also won the 1,000-meter run, clocking in at 2:56.57 while Olson (3:01.11) and Colbenson (3:01.84) were 2-3. The Bulldogs also received a third-place performances from freshman
Danielle Kohlwey in the 60-meter hurdles (8.66), freshman
Alyssa Nebo in the long jump (5.35 meters) and sophomore Katie Hawkinson in the triple jump (11.09 meters).
Kingsley, who competed with a handful of Bulldogs at the University of Wisconsin-Superior Saturday, won the weight throw competition with a toss of 15.44 meters.
UMD will pay its third visit of the 2016 season to the University of Minnesota campus next Friday (Jan. 29) for the two-day Jack Johnson Classic.
