The University of Minnesota Duluth tuned up for next week's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships by paying a visit to the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse for Friday's Snowshoe Open.
The Bulldogs received seven top 5 finishes, including a pair from senior
Jason Lilja, who took second in the long jump (22'-07.25") and third in the high jump (6'-08.75 -- a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark). Sophomore
Garret Schleis and sophomore
Casey Reeves placed second (42'-06.25") and fourth (40'-06.00"), respectively, in the triple jump , while junior
Connor Behm was fourth in the 400-meter dash (51.11) as was senior
Brian Lee in the weight throw (57'-11.00"). In addition, junior
Cody Sedbrook posted a NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 8:26.51 in the 3,000-meter run, good for fifth place, which was a lifetime best.
The two-day NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships get underway next Friday (Feb. 24) at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
