In its last tune up before next weekend's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, the University of Minnesota Duluth paid a visit to the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse for the Parent's Day Open Saturday and produced four individual event champions and one relay winner.
Headlining the list of titlists was sophomore
Danielle Kohlwey, who placed first in both the 200-meter dash (25.67) and the 60-meter hurdles (8.67).
Erica Kesseh took top honors in the 60-meter dash (7.76) as did fellow junior
Emi Trost in the 800-meter run (2:10.25). Trost also joined forces with senior
Breanna Colbenson, sophomore
Allie Stalboerger and freshman
Elizabeth Kyes to claim the distance medley relay title in a meet-record time of 11:44.37
The Bulldogs received four other top 3 finishes, including Stalboerger in the 200-meter dash (second behind Kesseh in 25.86), Kesseh in the 60-meter hurdles (second behind Kohlwey in 9.05), sophomore
Elizabeth Brunner in the triple jump (36'-06.25'), senior
Natalie Stauber in the 800-meter run (third place in 2:19.81) and senior
Brittany Platt in the 1,000-meter run (third place in 3:08.68).
The two-day NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships get underway next Friday (Feb. 24) at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
