University of Minnesota Duluth junior forward
Natalie St. Martin earned recognition from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for her efforts last week against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Tuesday. St. Martin was selected as the NSIC Offense Player of the Week in the initial weekly release of 2017. Defender Megan Helberg ('14) was the last Bulldog member to be awarded player of the week honors on Nov. 3, 2014.
St. Martin participated in all three goals for the Bulldogs in their 3-0 shutout of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Dellwood, Minn. native booted the game-winner in the 55th minute on a well constructed give-and-go with senior forward
Skye Finley. She was a force on the UWP backline as she registered a team-high three shots on goal and also added assists on both insurance tallies to dagger the Rangers. Her four points during the first game matched her scoring output from all of 2016.
She and the Bulldogs will travel to Marquette, Mich. to play Northern Michigan in a non-conference tilt on Friday afternoon. Opening kick is set for 1:00 p.m. A full preview will be available Thursday.
