Biography

GETTING TO KNOW PAIGE DUBOIS:
Favorite Track meet: NSIC Indoor Conference, the atmosphere at this meet is indescribable. From music playing during the races to teams lining both sides of the track during the 4x400 to cheer, there’s nothing like it.
Why I Chose UMD: I really connected with the team and the coach right off the bat, which is something I really needed being five hours from home. The city is so beautiful and surrounded by nature and great running trails. I love being right by Lake Superior, there is always something to go out and do/see.
Influences On My Athletic Career: Coaches and teammates (past and present), and my whole family, they are all so supportive and come to as many meets as they can.
Favorite College Course: Interpersonal Communications
What Most People Don’t Know About Me: I played flag football with all the boys at recess from kindergarten to 7th grade and you bet I was the running back! I also took Tae Kwon Do lessons but never made it past a yellow belt.
Most Memorable UMD Athletic Moment: Competing at the 2017 indoor track nationals on the Distance Medley Relay, running the 400 leg. We took second overall, earned First Team All-American honors, broke our school record, and the top four teams all broke the national record for this event. Something I will never forget.
Pre-Meet Ritual or Superstition: My hairy is naturally curly but I always straighten it for race day. Also I have to listen to Uptown Girl by Billy Joel at least once before the race.
Favorite Professional Athlete: Kerri Walsh-Jennings. Although she is not a runner, I have so much respect for her as an athlete. I follow her on all social media and she is such an inspiration. Even with all of her accolades and olympic medals she stays true to herself and her faith, works hard, pushes limits, and remains humble.
Sport I’d Like To Try Someday: I like to consider myself a UMD volleyball super fan. So probably volleyball.
