Biography

BULLDOG CAREER:
2015 (Junior)
Appeared in 30 of UMD's 31 matches and 107 games on the season • selected to All-NSIC Second Team • named to All-Tournament Team at Courtyard by Marriott Classic (Tampa, Fla.) and UIndy Tournament (Indianapolis) including an MVP selection at the latter • named NSIC Player of the Week on Sept. 14 • knocked down a season-high 20 kills on two different occassions vs. No. 24 Western Washington on Sept. 5 and vs. No. 8 Wayne State (Neb.) on Nov. 18 • had 16 kills in both matches vs. No. 9 Wheeling Jesuit on Sept. 4 and 12 • collected double-digit kills in 16 matches and 15+ kills in six matches.
2014 (Sophomore) Started all 35 matches for the Bulldogs, appearing in 115 sets for UMD • earned an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention • threw down a career-high 19 kills in UMD's four-set victory over Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 4 •  knocked down a season-high eight blocks (two solo) in UMD's five-set win over Wayne State (Neb.) on Oct. 31 • hit .571 with nine kills and five blocks against Wayne State in the NSIC Tournament Championship game on Nov. 15 • finished the season with 298 kills, a .342 attack percentage, and 100 blocks on the season • NSIC All-Academic Team selection.
2013 (Freshman) Appeared in 33 matches including 29 starts, taking over the starting  role in conference play • had nine games scoring double-digit kills including 15 against Concordia-St. Paul in the NSIC Championship game on Nov. 24 • had at least one block in 28 of 33 matches, knocking down a career-high six against Southwest Minnesota on Nov. 2 before matching that number on Dec. 6 against the same team in the NCAA II Central Regional • notched her career-high three digs in three different games • threw down 11 kills on a .714 attack percentage against Michigan Tech on Sept. 17 •  finished fourth on the team with 245 kills and second with 2.53 kills per game.
Mauch trained with the Bulldogs but did not see game action, receiving a redshirt as a first-year player in 2012.
BEFORE UMD: Held down a starting role at Brainerd High School for four years under coach Jared Diem • named an all-state selection in 2010 and 2011, as well as an All-Central Lakes Conference honoree in each of those seasons • garnered all-conference honorable mention acclaim as a sophomore in 2009, twice being named the Central Lakes Conference Player of the Week.
PERSONAL: Born Sydnie J. Mauch in Fargo, North Dakota • daughter of Shawn Mauch.
