BULLDOG CAREER
As a Senior [2013] - Put the wraps on one the best volleyball careers at the NCAA Division II level and as a Bulldog being nominated for the 2014 Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and unanimously selected as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and Daktronics National Player of the Year • Named to AVCA and Daktronics All-American first team and All-Central Region first team honors • Led the nation this past fall with 5.41 kills and 6.14 points per set, including 5.33 kills and 6.10 points per set in league play to receive her second consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Play of the Year accolade • Obtained the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week nod twice in 2013, the only other NCAA player to achieve that distinction • Helped UMD upset Concordia-St. Paul (7-time National Champions) on their turf in consecutive sets to win the NSIC Tournament • Wrote her name atop of the UMD record charts in kills (2,078) and attacks (4,854) and is in a club of her own attaining 2,000 kills, 1,000 digs, 100 solo blocks and 100 service aces • broke the 2,000-kill milestone on Nov. 23 in the straight-set sweep over Wayne State in the conference semifinals • set a personal and team high in kills in a match with 33 over Indianapolis on Sept. 13.
As a Junior [2012] - Lange started all 34 matches for the Bulldogs and was named the 2012 NSIC Player of the Year • Named to AVCA All-American first team and Daktronics All-American third team • AVCA and Daktronics All-Central Region first team selection • Led the NSIC in kills with 569 on the season, a total nearly 100 higher than the second-best player • Led the conference in points with 647, including a 5.58 mark per game, over one point more than the next highest average • Received AVCA National Player of the Week honors Sept. 18, the first for UMD since 2007 • Named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week three times (Sept. 10 & 17, Oct. 1)
As a Sophomore [2011] - One of three Bulldogs to see action in all 110 sets and start each of UMD’s 32 matches en route to claiming a laundry list of postseason awards • earned a second consecutive spot on the All-NSIC team and was recognized as an All-Central Region first team performer by both Daktronics and the AVCA • landed All-America acclaim from Daktronics (second team) and the AVCA (first team) • racked up a NCIS-leading 528 kills, the highest total reached by a Bulldog attacker since Vicky Braegelmann clubbed 560 as a junior in 2006.
As a Freshman [2010] - Appeared in all 29 matches, starting 28 as an immediate-impact newcomer • finished second on the team in kills with 326 while hitting .241 primarily from the left side • led the team in service aces with 45 and collected 215 digs • posted 45 blocks (seven solo) and played all six rotations • named to the 2010 All-NSIC team.
BEFORE UMD
Spent four seasons as a starter for the Hibbing Bluejackets, helping her team advance to the state tournament four times • selected to the class AA All-State Tournament team as a senior in 2009 • widely known as a versatile player, she was named the All-Area Player of the Year by the Duluth News Tribune her final two prep seasons in 2008 and 2009 • led the Bluejackets to a 26-8 record with 306 kills, 267 digs, 124 set assists, 86 ace serves and 50 total blocks as a junior • improved her totals across the board as a senior with 459 kills, 280 digs, 214 set assists, 128 ace serves and 75 total blocks • selected to the Minnesota Class AA All-State team.
