LONG-TIME UMD BASKETBALL COACH NORM OLSON DIES AT AGE 93

Norm Olson, who presided over the University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball coach for 16 storied seasons during the mid-1950s through the 1960s, passed away this Saturday (Sept. 6) in Convina, Calif. at the age of 93.A member of the UMD Athletic Hall of Fame (Class of 1993), Olson compiled a 229-136 career record from 1954-69 and guided the Bulldogs to four Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles (1957, 1958, 1961 and 1962) and five runner-up finishes.
