SOFTBALL ALL-AMERICAN STATUS BESTOWED ON UMD'S KERR

Tyra Kerr joined a distinguished group of University of Minnesota Duluth softball players Wednesday when she was chosen to the 2012 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II All-American second team. Kerr, a junior second baseman from Duluth, becomes just the fourth Bulldog ever to attain All-American softball status , joining pitcher/outfielder Kristin Danielson (NFCA third team in 2010), designated player/catcher Dayna Groom (NFCA third team in 2005), and second baseman Patty Becker (NAIA first team in 1990 and honorable mention in 1991).
