PALKIE CALLS IT A CAREER AT UMD WITH A SECOND PLACE NCAA II OUTDOOR FINISH SATURDAY

No University of Minnesota Duluth individual -- male or female -- has ever won a national title in a track event but senior Liz Palkie has come the closest of anyone by finishing second on two occasions. The latest came Saturday night at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in San Angelo, Texas where the most prolific runner in Bulldog history captured runnerup honors in the 800-meter finals.
