AS A BULLDOG: Has been an integral -- but at times unheralded -- part of the Bulldog blue line scheme over the past three winters ... easily surpassed his previous personal bests for scoring one year ago, pocketing 18 points on three goals and 15 assists and was a +14 on top of that ... picked up two of those points (one goal and one assist) while helping spark the Bulldogs past Bemidji State, 6-2, on Oct. 28 of last year ... was one of a dozen Bulldogs to accrue ice time in all 41 outings in 2011-12 ... has finished in the black for plus-minus in three consecutive seasons (the only current Bulldog to accomplish that feat) ... will take a string of 65 consecutive appearances into the 2012-13 season ... received an upgrade in both his ice time and responsibilities as a sophomore and didn’t disappoint ... had 10 points to his credit that year, scoring three goals and assisting on seven others ... registered his first multi-point night in a Bulldog uniform on Nov. 12, 2010 by helping set up a pair of goals in UMD’s 5-3 home triumph over Michigan Tech ... accumulated all but two of his points in 2010-11 in Bulldog triumphs ... was sidelined for both ends of the Minnesota series in mid-December 2010 while tending to an upper body injury ... had few equals in the WCHA -- and perhaps the nation -- when it came to blocking shots, and nowhere was that more apparent than at the 2011 NCAA East Regional ... qualified for the 2010-11 WCHA All-Academic Team ... certainoy made his presence felt -- particularly over the course of the final three months of the season -- as a collegiate newcomer three winters ago ... was the recipient of Jerry Chumola Award as UMD’s Rookie of the Year after closing out 2009-10 with one goal and five assists and ranking third on the club in plus-minus rating (+4) ... sat out four outings during the first half of the season (two with a head injury and two more with that flu) ... racked up five of his six freshman-year points, including his inaugural collegiate goal vs. Denver on Dec. 12, 2009, at the DECC.
