AS A BULLDOG:  Has carved out quite a niche as a gritty and dependable two-way player during his UMD stay ... put up his best statistical season to date last winter, more than doubling his previous career best ... finished with five goals and six assists on the year while accruing shift time in all 41 games ... scored twice in helping propel the Bulldogs past Maine 5-2 in the Northeast Regional semifinals last March on his way to being selected to that event’s All-Tournament team ... served as the middleman on UMD’s third line for the better part of 2011-12 ... attained WCHA All-Academic Team acclaim for the first time last season ... made some encouraging strides during year two with the Bulldogs and his spirited play did not go unnoticed -- was voted the winner of the 200-11 Mike Sertich Most Improved Player Award ... tallied once and assisted on four other goals in 38 outings as a sophomore ... those five points came at the expense of five different opponents while all but one was registered at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center or AMSOIL Arena ... was juggled in and out of the UMD lineup as a newcomer in 2009-10 ... his scoring summary that winter showed one goal (at North Dakota on Feb. 19) and one assist (in his Bulldog debut versus Northern Michigan on Oct. 11) in 21 games ... split that playing time nearly evenly between the DECC (11 outings) and the road (10).

BEFORE UMD: Engaged in one season of United States Hockey League warfare before signing on with the Bulldogs ... suited up in 50 regular season games for the Sioux City Musketeers in 2008-09 and had 16 points (four goals and 12 assists) to show for it ... starred for three years at Burnsville High School -- established a Blaze single-season record for goals (26) and points (71) as a junior and helped Burnsville secure its first Minnesota Class AA State Tournament berth in 16 years ... paced the Blaze in assists (31) the ensuing year and finished second on the team scoring charts (47 points) ... was a 2007-08 Associated Press All-State selection and a two-time All-Lake Conference pick (2006-07 and 2007-08).

PERSONAL: Born Jacob Robert Hendrickson on Oct. 2, 1989 in Shakopee, Minn. ... is the son of Bob and Lisa Hendrickson ... has one older sister (Jessie) and one younger brother (Luke) ... is majoring in mechanical engineering at UMD.
