AS A BULLDOG: Possesses the most collegiate experience (109 games) of any UMD defenseman heading into the 2012-13 season and that expansive ice exposure should pay some nice dividends during his final collegiate go-around ...  will serve as an alternate team captain duty with the Bulldogs this season ... showed a 100 percent increase in his 2011-12 scoring yield from the previous year, collecting eight points on one goal and seven assists ... finished a +7 on the year while taking part in each of UMD’s 41 outings ... picked up two assists -- marking his first multi-point evening with the Bulldogs -- in 4-4 tie at Minnesota State-Mankato on Feb. 18, 2012 ... was paired with four different partners (Luke McManus, Tim Smith, Derik Johnson and Scott Kishel) over the course of the 2011-12 season ... had a goal (his first with the Bulldogs on Feb. 25, 2011 at Colorado College) and three assists as a sophomore ... duplicated his ice time (34 outings) from his rookie season ... stayed home for the two road engagements with Michigan Tech (Jan. 21-22, 2011) tending to a lower body injury ... was a promising addition to the Bulldogs defensive corps three winters ago, making an almost seamless transition to big-time hockey ... had a pair of his assists (against Clarkson on Oct. 30 and North Dakota on Feb. 19) to his 2009-10 credit ... was a healthy scratch for four games that year and missed UMD’s home series with Colorado College in early January with a banged up shoulder.

BEFORE UMD: Deftly manned the point for one year with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League before migrating to UMD ... completed the 2008-09 regular season with eight points on two goals and six assists in 39 games and was a +3 to boot ... missed a sizeable portion of the year while nursing a leg injury ... was a three-year puck standout at Brainerd High School where he landed All-Central Lakes Conference recognition on a pair of occasions (2006-07 and 2007-08) in addition to being named a finalist for the Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award as a senior in 2007-08 ... also was an Associated Press All-State second team honoree that season after collecting 20 goals and 16 assists in 27 outings ... played one year of football (linebacker) and baseball (outfielder) with the Warriors as well ... was selected in the fourth round (118th pick overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2008 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
